On 27th of May the Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia celebrates The Museum Night Festival. The festival will be joined by museums and galleries across the country. The visitors will have the free entrance to all participating institutions. The 2017 Museum Night theme is “Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums”.

The Georgian State Museum of Folk and Applied Arts with the support of Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection in collaboration with the Folklore State Center of Georgia and Mushtaidi Culture and Amusement Park will host visitors on 27 May from19:00 to 01:00 at the event ”Mushtaidi Live Stories”.

19:00 -Public lecture “Mushtadi – Legends and Reality”.
20:00 - Official Opening of photo exhibitions “The history of Mushtaidi Park” and “Old Tbilisi Craft Workshops”.
21:00 - Performance of Movement Theatre “Meeting of Pirosmani with Margarita – Live Stories”.
22:00 - Closing event, Folklore Concert organized by TheFolklore State Center of Georgia.
☝To be in tune with the spirit of the event the Guests are highly recommended to wear the 19th-20th c. Georgian, European or Oriental costumes or accessories.
The project ”Mushtaidi Live Stories” will take place in Mushtaidi park, in the building, which once housed the first center of decorative-applied art in the Caucasus. The exhibition will tell about the activitiesof Caucasian Artisan Committee, will display the history of the Museum. Furthermore, it will shed light on the story of the mysterious Persian Akha Mir Fatah Mushtaidi and his palace, the name of which was given to the park later.
The live characters - flower sellers, doormen and janitors will guide the visitors through the park, exhibition spaces and to specially arranged crafts workshops, which will invite visitors and especially kids to get involved in making process. The visitors will also have the possibility to buy copies of museum items.
European, Georgian and Oriental music will sound during the night. When closing the events Margarita will sing for Pirosmani, while the visitors will wonder through the park of live stories.
